FERNANDES SETS ALL-TIME ITU RECORD
26/5/2008 - The scene was perfect for Vanessa Fernandes. She was in Madrid, her favourite world cup stop and a race she has dominated since 2003 and it just so happened to be the 200th in ITU world cup history; a perfect stage to becoming the all-time world cup leader. The reigning world champion did not disappoint, today winning her sixth consecutive Madrid title and 20th of her career, setting the new ITU career standard. And she’s only 22 years old.
PERFECT 10 FOR GOMEZ IN MADRID
26/5/2008 - Javier Gomez of Spain delighted his home crowds winning today’s Madrid BG Triathlon World Cup, the historic 200th in ITU history. He becomes just the fourth man to win ten world cup titles, joining the exclusive group that includes Brad Beven, Hamish Carter and Simon Whitfield. The win also extended his incredible world cup podium streak to 16 races.

PRESENTATION OF THE 2008 MADRID BG TRIATHLON WORLD CUP
19/5/2008 - The 2008 Madrid BG Triathlon World Cup will be presented on Tuesday 20 May at 10:30 in the Salon Cibeles at the Palacio de Cibeles (Plaza de Cibeles, 1. Metro Banco de España). The sixth edition of this competition will take place on Sunday 25 May in the Casa de Campo.
WAITING LIST FOR COMPETING IN 2008 MADRID BG TRIATHLON WORLD CUP
30/4/2008 - 25 days before the 2008 Madrid BG Triathlon World Cup, a waiting list of 46 triathletes (19 women and 27 men) all over the world has been created to participate in the capital of Spain next 25 May. According to the ITU rules, 75 men and women can compete in each World Cup event… and now there are 196 athletes who want to be in Madrid, the last World Cup race to qualify for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

30/4/2008 - The 2008 Madrid BG Triathlon World Cup to be held next Sunday 25 May is the last World Cup event for the Beijing 2008 ITU Olympic Qualifying Ranking. This ranking began the 1 June 2006 in the same city and will finish next 8 June in Vancouver.
